56 foot car

A 56' Steel sheathed car of a type which was the mainstay of main trunk passenger services from the 1940s through to the 1970s when some were rebuilt in to more modern coaches which still operate today. This was the pilot model built by John to 'prove' a kitset which he marketed.

56 foot van

Another vehicle in the same model range was the matching 56 foot guard's van. On NZR guard's vans were more than a 'caboose'. They also doubled as baggage cars and carried a limited amount of freight.
